Well, with Portland's economy in the dumps (like everybody's) and a government that *claims* they want to find ways to encourage new business in "creative" fields, seems like there should be chemistry and industrial design people at PSU and U of O and the various design schools working to come up with a product that does what Gocco does and can be made locally. Seems to me like half of this would be about patent rights and, in theory, Riso will want to keep their income stream from that maximized anyway so they should be open to a licencing deal.

C'mon, Sam! You say you want to show us your get up and go, that you want to help us lead the world of art and design. Fine; have your team work with the relevant schools (with the IPRC's advice) and get cracking!
